History

Ken Estes released Granddaddy Purple in 2003 in the Bay Area; it became one of the first California strains to be widely associated with medical use under Proposition 215.

Sensory & chemical profile

Grape candy, sweet berry, lavender. 17–23% THC. Myrcene + caryophyllene + pinene.

UK medical relevance

GDP-leaning phenos are prescribed in the UK as evening indicas. Reported for insomnia, severe pain, muscle spasm and appetite stimulation.
