History

Simon stabilised AK-47 at Serious Seeds in 1992 from a complex four-landrace cross. It went on to win Cannabis Cups across two decades and remains a benchmark sativa-dominant hybrid.

Sensory & chemical profile

Earthy, floral, sour. 16–20% THC. Caryophyllene + myrcene + pinene.

UK medical relevance

Not commonly catalogued by name on UK pharmacy shelves, but its chemovar — moderate THC, balanced terpenes — matches several daytime functional SKUs.

Legacy

Demonstrated that complex multi-landrace crosses could remain stable and reproducible in seed form.

Notable descendants

  • White Russian (AK-47 × White Widow)
  • Kalashnikova

Patient note

Heritage strain profiles describe the historical lineage and chemovar template. Modern UK pharmacy SKUs derived from these lines will differ in cannabinoid content, terpene ratio and effect.
